Ways to reduce the power bill?

Question by mychemicalromance: Approaches to reduce the power bill?
my husband and i unfortunately live with his parents with our daughter. for the past two months the power bill has been over $ 300. of course we pay half of it but i believe its more than we truly use. what are some things we can do to cut the bill down other than turning points off when we're not making use of them?
im just truly tired of them whining,possibly this will shut them up
